Let's Talk about City Council! 

A City Council Review Committee has been formed to review the current composition of City Council and the ward system.

The Library hosted two sessions for the Committee and we also hosted an Indigenous Sharing Circle as well.

These events have now concluded. Stay tuned for future events!

    These questions were discussed at the event in small groups:

    • What are the advantages / disadvantages of ward based representation?
    • What are the advantages / disadvantages of at-large based representation?
    • Should City Councillor be considered a part time or full time position?
    • How many members of Council should there be in total? How should they be allocated between at-large/ward/Mayor?

    These engagement events were presented in partnership with the City of Thunder Bay / City Council Composition Committee.
