Early Literacy Programs

These sessions will help children learn to love stories and get ready for reading. Parents will also learn about authors and titles and how they can help their child get ready for learning and school.

Read, Sing, Play!

Children and their families will enjoy this 100% literacy based drop-in storytime combining stories, songs, and rhymes with activities and time for play! Just drop-in! Daycares welcome - please call a few days ahead.

Baby Time

A drop-in, literacy based storytime for babies up to 24 months. Your baby will learn through stories, songs, lap rhymes and play. Siblings are welcome.

Tales for Twos

Singing, stories, activities, and rhymes for two year olds and their caregivers. Registration begins two weeks before program date by phone, in person, or online.

Preschool Storytime

A school readiness program for children ages 3 and 4 to attend on their own while caregivers remain nearby in the Library. Parental participation is required for the activity portion of the program. Registration begins two weeks before program date by phone, in person, or online.

Build and Play @ Mary J - any time!

Families are invited to come and play with our creative engineering and building toys! Mastermind a massive marble maze, build an adventure with Goldie Blox, or snap together Magna Tiles. Toys are suitable for children ages 4+ and are available whenever the Library is open.

Family Lego Drop In! Saturdays from 2-4pm at Brodie Library & Saturdays from 10-5pm at County Park Library

Play, build, and create! Kids of all ages and their caregivers are invited to drop in for imaginative play. Materials provided.

Weird Science! Mon Sept 17 @ 4pm; Waverley Auditorium

Houston, we have a problem. Explore the weird and wonderful science of science and rocketry. Make your very own rocket! Registration opens September 4; ages 7+

Science Storytime! Tues Sept 18 @ 10:30am; County Park Library

A very special scientific storytime and science experiment. Registration opens September 4; for all ages!

Slime! Sat Sept 22 @ 2:30pm; Waverley Auditorium

It's ooey and gooey... it's SLIME! Come visit the Library and make your very own slime! Registration opens September 8; ages 6-12
