Craig Waboose

Indigenous Relationships Facilitator

Since joining Thunder Bay Public Library in 2022 as a Service Assistant, Craig Waboose, an Oji-cree from Eabametoong First Nation, has grown into a key role as the Indigenous Relationships Facilitator.

Craig’s role at the Library, alongside the Senior Advisor - Indigenous Relations, is to curate the Indigenous Knowledge Centres (IKCs) by ensuring the Collection highlights the literary works of prominent authors. Craig also hosts a variety of Indigenous programs that aim to educate participants on culture and community, such as Mini Tipi & Mini Tikinagan workshops.

You can often find Craig reading horror or non-fiction books from our IKCs.

“I enjoy working at the Library because I can bring my own Indigenous knowledge to the role in regards to Indigeneity, and helping to decolonize our spaces!”
