YOUth Review: Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt follows the lives of three main characters: Tova Sullivan, Cameron, and Marcellus, who just so happens to be an octopus. In this book, Tova had lost her son many years prior and her husband not long ago. She works in an aquarium where her best friend just so happens to be Marcellus the octopus. She lives in Washington.

Going to California is where you will find Cameron. His mother leaves him with his aunt when he is nine. Years have passed and now Cameron finds his way to Washington to find answers. That is when he meets Tova. He then works part time at the aquarium after Tova suffers an injury and, with the help of Marcellus, he finds some of the answers he was looking for.

This book is a great book! It was recommended to me and when it was I did not think I was going to like it. I would have never picked this book out for myself. I found this book to be somewhat predictable, but nonetheless it was still a great book. I really enjoyed the point of view of all the characters; and I like how the point of view of Marcellus was included into the storyline!
