Thunder Bay Public Library is beginning to store some older items in closed stacks.
What are Closed Stacks?
Closed stacks are staff-only areas of the Library where older items are stored. You can browse our catalogue for these items and place holds to have them sent to the branch of your choice for pickup, but these shelves are not available for in-person browsing. Doing this allows us to maintain a broad collection while still adding new books.
What does that mean for me?
- You can place a hold on closed stack items the same way you would any other item.
- You can pick up your hold at any branch during normal open hours.
- You can return closed stack items to any branch the same way you would any other item.
