Our new logo was launched on May 10th. You are invited to visit any Branch to exchange your Library card for a new one, featuring the new logo.
The new logo embodies colour and movement. The loose, free brush strokes suggest a childlike exuberance that cannot be quite contained. The evocative page shapes are only lightly filled – there is a little wiggle room, a place to shrug or settle in to. Each successive page builds on the one beneath to create rich, subtly connected layers, in the same way that public libraries everywhere aim to provide patrons with life enriching multi-media experiences.
The foundational deep red page of the book evokes the stern of a boat, in keeping with the connection that our City has to Lake Superior. From here, we rise to a transparent page that waits for a new story, an imaginative resource, or an invisible virtual quest. Each page creates a tiny peaked roof – a space that harbours information or resources worth peeking through doors to find. Library users are encouraged to make this space their own.
The video below illustrates the evolution of the Thunder Bay Public Library, and the development of the new logo.

Guidelines
1. We will send e-mail notices to the e-mail address you provide us. If you share an e-mail account, you should be aware that those you share it with will be able to read your notices.
2. We will not use your e-mail address for any purpose other than notifications unless you give us permission to do so, and we will never make your address available to anyone else.
3. Questions about Holds or Overdues should be directed to adults@tbpl.ca or by calling the library.
This service sometimes has problems with Hotmail, Yahoo or other free Web-based e-mail accounts. If you set filters in these accounts to high security, our e-mail address appears to be "spam". To fix this, try entering tbpl.ca as a domain that you're willing to accept e-mail from.
If you wish to be notified by phone, change your notification preference by accessing your record through My Library Card on the Web page or in the Catalogue.
For further information, please send an e-mail to adults@tbpl.ca or call any branch of the Thunder Bay Public Library.
