If you’re starting a business or interested in moving your small business out of your home and into a professional setting, hub:north might be an ideal place for your business. At hub:north we provide qualified businesses with a desk and chair in an open concept working space in Thunder Bay’s downtown core at Waverley Library. These businesses will also have use of meeting rooms, professional business support, access to the on-site Makerspace, networking opportunities and more.

What does it offer?
Designated work spaces
hub:north offers 3 different levels of reasonably priced workspaces designed to fit the needs of most startup businesses giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to choose the fit that is right for them.
You receive a space that is solely yours for up to one year as long as you’re using the hub:north to on focus on growing your business. The workspace is available from 10am to 9pm Monday through Thursday and 10am to 5pm Friday and Saturday.
hub:north has to both a large and a small meeting room that can be booked for private use. Priority for room booking goes to hub:north customers, please book early to ensure availability as rooms are also bookable by staff members and the general public.
Lockable Storage Space
hub:north is equipped with lockers that are available to use for free by those that have a dedicated and shared desk. A $35 deposit is required and will be refunded once the locker is emptied and the key is returned.
Available resources include printers, computers, AV equipment, mail box.
Business advisors from the Innovation Centre, Entrepreneurship Centre, and the Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) will be on location at designated times and will be available to assist you with your business’s needs.

Is my business a fit?
The businesses that are the best fit for hub:north are ones that can easily operate with only a desk, chair, wifi, cell phone, access to a meeting space and can work in a co-working environment. The size of business does matter so those businesses operating out of the space shall only have up to 3 employees physically using the hub:north space at one time.
Some sample businesses that are an ideal fit for hub:north include:

Businesses that are not a good fit for hub:north:
- Businesses that want to use hub:north as a store front
- Businesses that require addition space beyond desk, chair, meeting space and small locker.
- Businesses where their operations will distract or interfere with the other businesses around them.
