You’re out for a walk when you spot something bright and colourful. Curious sort that you are, you pick it up and discover #TBayPLrocks. Searching the hashtag brought you here, or to our information pages on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Let us tell you what #TBayPLrocks is all about!
Thunder Bay Public Library is proud to start a community project known as Happiness Rocks. We will be holding monthly rock painting sessions inviting the public to come and paint happy, inspirational rocks to be spread around the community for others to find and to brighten people’s days. Considered random acts of art, rocks can be painted by all ages with bright colours, images, intricate designs or simple messages, then shared with total strangers.
If you’ve found a rock, you can keep it, gift it, or re-hide it – whatever makes you happy! We'd love for you to share a picture of your rock, where you found it, and what you'll be doing with it with us. Post on our Facebook page, tag us on Instagram or Twitter, or email the picture to us at tbpl%23ca|happinessrocks and we will post it for you!
Join the movement and paint your own Happiness Rocks at one of our all-ages Library drop-in programs:
- County Park Library Mall Space on June 6 at 2:00 p.m.
- Mary J.L. Black Library Community Program Room on July 4 at 1:00 p.m.
- Waverley Library Auditorium on August 3 at 2:00 p.m.
Watch out for us at summer community events! If you'd like to become a partner or are interested in more details about how to make the world a happier place one rock at a time, please email tbpl%23ca|happinessrocks
