Wireless Internet access (WiFi) is available at all Branches of TBPL!
WiFi users must agree to the Terms of Use, and abide by the Public Internet Policy .

How do I connect to Wireless?
Follow the instructions in this document . You'll be asked to log in with your Library Card number and PIN to access our WiFi.
Does the Library provide power for laptops?
Electrical outlets are available for you to plug in laptops or other devices at all Branches. Plesae ask staff to direct you to them. TBPL is not responsible for any damage caused to your laptop or other device from power surges or other electrical interruptions.
Does the wireless network pose a health hazard?
No, the wireless network does not pose any health risk. It uses radio signals within the spectrum of safety. While there will always be controversy over the safety of exposure to radio signals, it is something we are exposed to whether we have a wireless network or not.
How can I protect my laptop / PDA / Blackberry?
It is the user’s responsibility to protect their equipment against any potential abuse such as viruses, malware and breach of privacy as well as against physical theft or damage. Thunder Bay Public Library assumes no responsibility for the user’s equipment or for any direct or indirect damages arising from the use of its connection to Internet services.
Can you help me set up my laptop for wireless access?
The Library provides basic instructions on how to connect to the network but is not able to provide technical assistance. Your device must already have a wireless network card installed and enabled. The network card (not provided by the Library) must support IEEE 802.11 B or G
Can I listen to audio files using wireless?
Headphones are required for listening to audio files on your laptop in order to prevent users listening to music at disruptive levels. Headphones may be purchased for $2 from Circulation or Reference (at Brodie) Desks.
Can I print from my wireless device?
No. In order to print, save to a portable storage device and use a public internet station
