Evergreen Award

Evergreen Award logo

The Evergreen Award™ is the Ontario Library Association's newest addition to the Forest of Reading™- a reading program. It was introduced in 2005 and is aimed at adults of any age. It gives adult library patrons the opportunity to vote for a work of Canadian fiction or non-fiction that they have liked the most.  The author must be a living Canadian and the title nominated must have been published in the last two years.   The short list is decided on by a panel of librarians who review a list of submissions from librarians throughout the province.  People read the titles and vote on which one they think should win the award.  Voting is in the fall during Public Library Month.

The 2011 Winner is announced!!   Room, a Novel by Emma Donaghue.  Check out the announcement to learn more about this winning title.
