IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR KOBO AND NOOK CLOUDLIBRARY USERS

There have been some new updates to cloudLibrary for those of you who have an e-ink device such as a Kobo or Nook e-reader.

The individual PC and Mac apps are no longer required and will be discontinued at the end of 2020.

Click here for instructions on how to borrow cloudLibrary items on these devices.

Check out these new titles made available by the Friends of the Library organization. Thanks to Superior Gaming for the donation which made these purchases available for you!

cloudLibrary is available 24/7, has automatic return, syncs across multiple devices and promises better variety and access to titles.

After logging in with your Library card number and PIN, you may borrow up to ten books at a time from cloudLibrary. The loan period is two weeks.  You may also place up to ten holds at a time, and make up to ten suggestions.  Books can be renewed in cloudLibrary -- as long as there are no holds on them.  A "renew" button will appear in your "My Books" three days before your loan expiring.

A note about the cloudLibrary collection, or, "Where is that book I saw here yesterday?"
If you used OverDrive in the past, you may recall that TBPL was part of a consortium with a large shared collection.  In cloudLibary there is a similar shared collection, called cloudLink, which works in a slightly different way.  TBPL is one of 29 Ontario libraries in our cloudLink group.  When you log in to cloudLibrary you can see all the books TBPL has purchased, and books from the other libraries which are not checked out.  So, you see everything currently available to be checked out.  If a book from another library is checked out, then you won't see it, as holds can not be placed on other libraries' books.  Due to the nature of cloudLink you will see fluctuations in the collection.

If you prefer to only see books available to check out or put on hold by TBPL patrons, click on the Filter icon beside the Search field and choose "All Library Titles" under Availability. To only see books available to check out immediately, choose "Available Now." To see books available to check out, available for holds, and books we haven't purchased that you may suggest to us, choose "Suggestions for Library." Don't forget to click on Save after making any changes.
Feel free to contact us atcomments@tbpl.caif you have any questions about cloudLink or other cloudLibrary features.
