Members of the Caregiver Support Committee

  • Alzheimer Society
    provides information and support to persons with Alzheimer’s disease, their families, and caregivers.  Also conducts education and/or information sessions for the public, caregivers, and professional care provider groups.

  • Bayshore Home Health
    Provides companions, homemakers, health care aides, RN and RPN in the home.

  • Centre for Education and Research in Aging and Health
    Is currently involved in providing a wide-ranging approach to educational support of professional and family caregivers through education and resource development in the Thunder Bay District and region.

  • Comcare Health Services
    provides a full-range of health care services, including homemaker and home support care, skilled nursing care, private duty care, palliative care, foot care, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, assistive devices services, nutrition services, and wheelchair and walker assessments.

  • Community Information and Referral Centre
    A non-profit community initiated organization that provides information about human services and makes referrals appropriate to the needs of the individual.

  • Comfort Keepers
    provices non-medical in-home care, personal care services, and respite relief for families. Offers a variety of services.

  • Hilldale Gardens Retirement Living
    Locally owned and operated, Hilldale Gardens provides worry free living for seniors who are still independent and lead an active lifestyle. We provide respite care and trial stays for those who maybe considering retirement living options.  We offer numerous services, amenities, in beautiful spacious suites - imagine all that awaits you at Hilldale Gardens.

  • Hospice Northwest
    a volunteer-based agency founded for the sole purpose of providing compassionate support to individuals, and their caregivers, as they face the challenges of living with a progressive life-limiting illness

  • Luterhan Community Care Centre
    A social ministry agency of the Lutheran Churches of the Thunder Bay area providing caring services to families and individuals. Programming is both preventative and remedial. Services are provided to all people regardless of religious affiliation.

  • The Manor House (St. Joseph's Care Group)
    The Older Adult Day Program, located in the Manor House at St. Joseph’s Heritage, is a day respite program, designed to provide a safe comfortable atmosphere for clients to spend the day, while providing caregivers and family a day of respite.

  • Meals on Wheels
    A home support program that assists convalescents, seniors, and individuals with disabilities to live in the community by providing meals delivered to the door for a reasonable cost, weekdays.

  • Nor'West Community Health Centres
    Nor’ West Community Health Centres provide health care and health promotion programs in Armstrong, Longlac, and in Thunder Bay.

  • North West Community Care Access Centre
    This organization helps you access government-funded home care services and long-term care homes. It also helps people navigate the array of community support and health agencies in our communities.

  • Sister Margaret Smith Centre:  Older Adult Addictions Program
    For individuals 55 and older who are concerned about, or having problems with, addictions.

  • Thunder Bay 55+ Centre
    Offers recreation, education, and support services for people aged 55 and older.

  • Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre
    A hospital providing a broad range of acute care in-patient and out-patient services to the residents of Thunder Bay and regional referral services to the residents of Northwestern Ontario

  • Victorian Order of Nurses (VON)
    VON is Canada’s largest national non profit charitable organization addressing community health and social needs through nursing, personal support, physiotherapy, social work, footcare and an adult day program.
